Orientation 2013

Bll US office secretary August 29, 2013

August is always an exciting time for me, the Baptists for Israel US office secretary. The first part of the month is spent communicating with the student/interns to make sure that they have all their forms completed and returned, and their financial deadlines on track. The second half of the month comes with lots of questions like these coming in from the student/interns…

“Can I bring my laptop?”“How much luggage can I bring?”
“How will my family be able to reach me while I am in Israel?”
“Do I need to get a visa?”

When the students arrive at our orientation location for the first time, I enjoy finally getting to meet them in person after all of our electronic conversations. Our student/interns this year are very musical. During their free time two of them got out their violins and started playing a duet. Later, I heard beautiful music flowing from the piano as one student shared his talent with us. Another plays guitar and leads music. I wish I could be a little mouse and travel with them to Israel this year; the people on the kibbutz are really in for a treat.
